SOURCES TELL CBS NEWS THAT FEDERAL INVESTIGATORS, INCLUDING POSSIBLY THE FBI AND JOINT TERRORISM TASK FORCE ARE LOOKING INTO WHETHER A BRUTAL RAMPAGE IN OHIO HAD ANY CONNECTION


SOURCES TELL CBS NEWS THAT FEDERAL INVESTIGATORS, INCLUDING POSSIBLY THE FBI AND JOINT TERRORISM TASK FORCE ARE LOOKING INTO WHETHER A BRUTAL RAMPAGE IN OHIO HAD ANY CONNECTION WITH RADICAL GROUPS. POLICE SAY A MAN WITH A MACHETE ATTACKED SEVERAL CUSTOMERS INSIDE A NORTHEAST COLUMBUS RESTAURANT LAST NIGHT.   FOUR PEOPLE WERE HURT. OFFICERS SHOT AND KILLED THE ATTACKER AFTER A BRIEF CHASE. CBS NEWS HAS LEARNED THE ATTACKER WAS MAHAMMED BARRY. POLICE SAY THE SUSPECT VISITED THE RESTAURANT AND SPOKE WITH AN EMPLOYEE EALIER IN THE DAY. IT'S NOT CLEAR WHAT THE DISCUSSION WAS ABOUT. INVESTIGATORS SAY LESS THAN AN HOUR LATER HE CAME BACK AND BEGAN HIS VIOLENT RAMPAGE. THE SUSPECTED ATTACKER HAS A SOMALI BACKGROUND. LAW ENFORCEMENT IS CONCERNED THAT THIS INCIDENT HAS THE HALLMARKS OF THE TYPE OF LONE-WOLF TERRORIST ATTACK. THAT THEY HAVE BEEN WORKING TO STOP.
