AT THE STATEHOUSE, LEGISLATORS ARE INTRODUCING A BILL TO LEGALIZE MEDICAL MARIJUANA

AT THE STATEHOUSE, LEGISLATORS ARE INTRODUCING A BILL TO LEGALIZE MEDICAL MARIJUANA.  HOPE TO PASS IT THIS YEAR AND MAKE IT AVAILABLE WITHIN THE NEXT TWO YEARS...  LEGISLATORS SAY THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH WILL OVERSEE A NINE MEMBER MEDICAL MARIJUANA CONTROL COMMISSION. LAWMAKERS SAY THE BILL WILL ALLOW MEDICAL MARIJUANA IN THE FORM OF EDIBLES, PATCHES, PLANT MATERIAL AND OILS.  HOMEGROWN MARIJUANA WILL NOT BE LEGAL. IN THE BILL THERE WILL BE WORKPLACE PROTECTIONS -- AND RULES FOR LOCAL DISPENSARIES. ONLY PHYSICIANS, LICENSED UNDER THE STATE MEDICAL BOARD WILL BE ABLE TO RECOMMEND MEDICAL MARIJUANA TO THEIR PATIENTS.
