VICE PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN ANOUNCED NEW RULES FOR OVERTIME PAY FROM COLUMBUS YESTERDAY THAT WILL REQUIRE THAT PEOPLE MAKING UP TO 47-THOUSAND DOLLARS PER YEAR BE PAID TIME-AND-A-HALF


VICE PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN ANOUNCED NEW RULES FOR OVERTIME PAY FROM COLUMBUS YESTERDAY THAT WILL REQUIRE THAT PEOPLE MAKING UP TO 47-THOUSAND DOLLARS PER YEAR BE PAID TIME-AND-A-HALF WHEN THEY WORK MORE THAN 40 HOURS PER WEEK. BIDEN USED JENI'S ICE CREAM IN COLUMBUS AS A BACKDROP TO TALK ABOUT A NEW OVERTIME RULE. IT COULD MEAN *THOUSANDS OF EXTRA DOLLARS IN PAY FOR THE MIDDLE CLASS. THE WHITE HOUSE SAYS NATIONWIDE - 4.2 MILLION WORKERS WILL GET A BOOST IN THEIR PAYCHECK. IT'S ESTIMATED THAT 133-THOUSAND OHIOANS WILL BENEFIT. THE MAJORITY OF WORKERS AFFECTED ARE BETWEEN THE AGES OF 25 TO 54. I'M  THE NEW RULE GOES INTO EFFECT IN DECEMBER. CURRENTLY ONLY THOSE MAKING UP TO 23-THOUSAND DOLLARS PER YEAR MUST BE PAID OVERTIME
