STARTING IN DECEMBER, MANY WORKERS WHO MAKE BETWEEN 23-THOUSAND AND 47-THOUSAND DOLLARS PER YEAR WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR OVERTIME PAY WHEN THEY ARE ON THE JOB MORE THAN 40 HOURS IN A WEEK. A GALLUP SURVEY SHOWS THE AVERAGE FULL-TIME EMPLOYEE WORKS A 47 HOUR WORK WEEK. THAT'S ALMOST AN EXTRA DAY'S WORTH OF WORK. HERE'S SOME PERSPECTIVE ON HOW THE OVERTIME RULE COULD PAN OUT FOR SOMEONE MAKING 30-THOUSAND DOLLARS. LET'S ASSUME THEY WORKED TEN HOURS OF OVERTIME EVERY WEEK ONE YEAR. THAT'S TIME-AND-A-HALF FOR THOSE HOURS. THAT WOULD EQUAL NEARLY 12-THOUSAND EXTRA DOLLARS IN PAY A YEAR
