Jackson Center Police Chief on unpaid leave


THE JACKSON CENTER VILLAGE COUNCIL HAS PASSED A MOTION CHANGING POLICE CHIEF JOE COTTERMAN’S STATUS FROM PAID ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE TO UNPAID ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE. COTTERMAN IS FACING A TRIAL ON CHARGES OF GROSS SEXUAL IMPOSITION. HE IS ACCUSED OF HAVING SEXUAL CONTACT WITH A 19 YEAR OLD FEMALE. COTTERMAN HAS PLEADED NOT GUILTY. HIS TRIAL STARTS IN JULY. ACCORDING TO THE SIDNEY DAILY NEWS, THE JACKSON CENTER COUNCIL DOES NOT PLAN TO CHANGE THIS AGREEMENT UNTIL AFTER COTTERMAN’S TRIAL. CHUCK WIRICK IS SERVING AS JACKSON CENTER’S INTERIM POLICE CHIEF.
