A LATE NIGHT IN THE STATEHOUSE AS OHIO LAWMAKERS RUSH TO PASS SEVERAL BILLS -- INCLUDING THE CONTROVERSIAL MEDICAL MARIJUANA BILL

A LATE NIGHT IN THE STATEHOUSE AS OHIO LAWMAKERS RUSH TO PASS SEVERAL BILLS -- INCLUDING THE CONTROVERSIAL MEDICAL MARIJUANA BILL. THE SENATE PASSED THE BILL BY JUST *3 VOTES. AND  IT NOW GOES TO THE GOVERNOR FOR HIS SIGNATURE. THIS MEASURE WOULD PREVENT PATIENTS FROM SMOKING OR GROWING MARIJUANA AT HOME. IT WOULD BE USED IN VAPOR FORM. THERE WERE ALSO SOME CHANGES TO THE BILL, DISPENSARIES CANNOT BE PLACED WITCHING 1,000 FEET OF A DAYCARE FACILITY. ALSO EMPLOYERS WHO WANT TO MAINTAIN DRUG FREE WORKPLACES WOULD BE PROVIDED IMMUNITY. DESPITE THIS BILL PASSING, SOME IN FAVOR OF MEDICINAL MARIJUANA SAY THEY'RE STILL LEFT OUT OHIOANS FOR MEDICAL MERIJUANA SAY THAT ISN'T RIGHT. THAT GROUP HAS UNTIL JULY 6 TO GET 305 THOUSAND SIGNATURES FOR A BALLOT INITIATIVE. AND THAT WOULD ALLOW FOR HOMEGROWN MARIJUANA AND FOR PEOPLE TO SMOKE THE DRUG.
