A 28 YEAR OLD SOUTHWEST OHIO MAN, FROM HAMILTON, CHARGED WITH MURDER IN THE STABBING DEATH OF HIS STEPFATHER


A 28 YEAR OLD SOUTHWEST OHIO MAN, FROM HAMILTON, CHARGED WITH MURDER IN THE STABBING DEATH OF HIS STEPFATHER, 56 YEAR OLD CLIFFORD WAGERS, HAS BEEN DECLARED INCOMPETENT TO STAND TRIAL. THE KILLING WAS THE RESULT OF AN ARGUMENT. THE HAMILTON-MIDDLETOWN JOURNAL-NEWS REPORTS A BUTLER COUNTY JUDGE DECLARED JONATHON DAY INCOMPETENT YESTERDAY FOLLOWING A COURT-ORDERED PSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATION. .DEFENSE ATTORNEY JEREMY EVANS FILED AN INCOMPETENCY MOTION LAST MONTH SAYING DAY HAD A SEVERE PSYCHOLOGICAL REACTION DURING POLICE QUESTIONING. EVANS SAYS HIS CLIENT SUFFERS FROM SIGNIFICANT PSYCHOLOGICAL SYMPTOMS AND APPEARS TO BE INCAPABLE OF HANDLING THE STRESS OF TRIAL OR HELP IN HIS OWN DEFENSE. DAY HAS BEEN ORDERED TO RECEIVE TREATMENT TO TRY TO RETURN HIM TO COMPETENCY
