Mercer County once again had the state of Ohio's lowest rate of unemployment for the month of January. Mercer County reported 2.5 percent. Holmes County came in second at 2.8 percent and Auglaize County was third with 2.9 percent. Van Wert County had 3.3 percent. Allen County had 4 percent.  According to the Ohio Department of job and family services, the state of Ohio's rate of unemployment in January was 3.7 percent.
