Celina, OH – Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey announced today that there will be extra deputies patrolling Mercer County during the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day weekend. Our Office will be participating in the St. Patrick’s Day Blitz on March 15th - 17th through the Ohio Traffic Safety Office (OTSO).

During this blitz, our deputies will have an increased presence patrolling the county’s streets, roads, and highways. They will be looking for impaired, aggressive and criminal-based drivers, as well as distracted drivers. Deputies will be assigned to have an increased traffic visibility, with the purpose of reducing traffic crashes, and identify unsafe driving throughout Mercer County.  

Sheriff Grey would like to remind citizens to never drink and drive, and encourages those who plan on drinking to designate a sober driver ahead of time. Please help keep Mercer County roadways safe…Never let your friends and family drive if they have been drinking!
