Mercer County leads the state for lowest unemployment


Mercer County continues to lead the state for the lowest rate of umemployment. Mercer County saw a slight increase in March. The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services reports Mercer County's rate of unemployment rose to 3.1 percent in March from 2.9 percent in February. Auglaize County had a slight increase from 3.3 to 3.5 percent. Van Wert went from 3.5 to 3.7 percent. Ohio’s unemployment rate was 3.8% in March. This was up from 3.7% in February. The national unemployment rate changed little at 3.8 percent but was 0.3 percentage point higher than in March 2023.
