New Paris man indicted on charges related to fatal car-buggy crash in December


 

 

24 year old Trey Frech of New Paris has been indicted on 10 charges related to a December traffic accident on State Route 49 north of Oregon Road that took the life of a 1 year old girl last December. Frech struck a horse drawn buggy head on while passing another car.  The driver of the buggy, 24 year old John Schwartz  of Celina, was taken to an area hospital where he was treated and released Schwartz’s wife Elizabeth, who was pregnant, was taken to Mercer Health and later flown to Miami Valley Hospital. The Schwartz’s 3-year-old was taken to Mercer Health.The horse later died. Frech faces charges that include aggravated vehicular homicide, vehicular assault and operating a vehicle under the influence. Frech is scheduled to appear in Mercer County Common Pleas Court on May 1st at 10 am. To read the indictment against Trey Frech:
