KEY REMINDERS

You must apply to be considered for federal assistance. Homeowners and renters with disaster-related
damage or loss from the March 14 tornadoes in Auglaize, Crawford, Darke, Delaware, Hancock, Licking, Logan,
Mercer, Miami, Richland and Union counties are eligible to apply for FEMA assistance.
If you have insurance coverage for the disaster damage, be sure to file that claim as soon as possible. FEMA
cannot duplicate insurance benefits but may be able to assist with uninsured or underinsured essential items.
Applicants who are insured for the disaster damage to their home must provide an insurance settlement or
benefit documents to FEMA before being considered for federal assistance.
FEMA assistance is designed to jumpstart recovery efforts and ensure your home is livable. The assistance you
receive is not likely to cover the full costs of returning your home or property to the condition it may have been
prior to the disaster. To see what types of assistance might be available to you, visit the Find Assistance page.
Damage from early May storms is not included in this declaration. FEMA individual assistance is only being
provided for damage or loss sustained during the March 14, 2024, tornadoes.
Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) is now available. The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services
(ODJFS) is accepting applications for DUA from individuals in the 11 designated counties, whose employment
or self-employment was lost or interrupted due to tornadoes on March 14, 2024. Applications for DUA must be
filed by July 2, 2024. Learn more on the ODJFS website.
