Former Celina City Councilman Ed Jeffries has passed away at the age of 93. In addition to his time on City Council, Ed was a life member of the Grand Lake Beagle Club and also a member of the Celina Eagles. Ed was also "Muscles the Clown" and entertained children and members of the Mercer County Council on aging. He was an avid fisherman as well as a NASCAR fan and enjoyed card games and volunteering for the Mercer County Council on aging. Ed was also previously named the citizen of the year by the Celina Mercer County Chamber of Commerce and was honored as a guardian of the lake by the Lake Improvement Association. Ed Jeffries is survived by his wife and his 6 sons, 12 grandchildren and his 16 great-grandchildren.
