Mercer County Republican Committee to vote on coroner appointment
CELINA — The Mercer County Republican Central Committee will hold a vote to fill the recently vacated position of Mercer County Coroner on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 6:30 p.m.
The meeting will take place at the Richardson-Bretz Building, located at 119 West Fulton Street in Celina. The vote will occur during the committee’s regularly scheduled monthly meeting.
According to a notice from Chris Doseck, secretary of the Mercer County Republican Party, nominations will be opened, and committee members will vote to elect a replacement coroner in accordance with party by-laws.
The Mercer County Commissioners have appointed Dr. James Reichert as acting county coroner following the retirement of longtime coroner Dr. Timothy Heinrichs. Dr. Reichert will serve in the role until a permanent replacement is selected. To read that earlier story:
