Fire Damages China Wok Restaurant in Celina; No Injuries Reported
To hear comments from Celina Fire Chief Brian Davis:
On Friday, November 21 at 2:05 p.m., the Celina Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at China Wok Buffet, located at 1401 E. Market Street in Celina. Upon arrival, crews observed moderate smoke conditions and flames venting through the roof.
Firefighters were able to make a quick interior attack and successfully extinguished the fire, which was located in the kitchen area and had extended into the attic. An employee attempted to use a fire extinguisher to contain the fire prior to the department’s arrival but was unable to due to rapid flame spread.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation; however, no foul play is suspected at this time. The property is insured, and an estimated loss has not yet been determined. No injuries were reported.
Approximately ten firefighters responded to the incident. The Celina Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Celina Police Department, Celina Utilities, and the Celina Water Department.
