Cameron Elwer is officially the new all-time leading scorer in the Midwest Athletic Conference, surpassing the previous record set in 2018 by Justin Arns. Elwer reached 2,061 career points, a milestone discussed this week during an interview on Off the Clock with Lee Keaser on 96.7 The Wave.

Appearing alongside his father and head coach, Aaron Elwer, Cameron said the achievement has yet to fully sink in. With much of the season still ahead, he emphasized staying focused on team goals rather than individual accolades.

“As I’ve gotten older, it’s become less about individual awards and more about the team and enjoying the journey,” Cameron said, noting that this is his final season playing alongside longtime teammates — and being coached by his father.

Keaser asked what stood out most about the path to the record, and Cameron pointed to the relationships built along the way. He said cherishing time with his teammates and family has become his top priority as the season continues.

Coach Aaron Elwer reflected on watching his son grow both as a player and person, saying the most impressive part of the record run has been Cameron’s ability to keep attention on the team despite the spotlight. He noted that while individual recognition comes with success, it has never been the focus inside the program.

Both father and son described the record as a special moment, but one that fits into a much larger story — a season still being written, with nearly 20 games remaining.
