Mercer Health Scholarship and Internship Opportunities – 2026

Mercer Health is proud to support the next generation of healthcare professionals through a variety of scholarship and internship opportunities designed to encourage local students to explore healthcare careers and build their future here at home.

  • The MED Foundation Scholarship: Available to graduating seniors from each of the six Mercer County schools interested in improving the health of the citizens in Mercer County and the surrounding area. Applications are accepted annually from January 15 to March 1. Apply at https://mercer-health.com/med-foundation/scholarship-program-application/
  • Mercer Health Volunteer Association Scholarship: Open to current or past Mercer Health volunteers or current employees of Mercer Health who are furthering their education in any employable profession represented within the Mercer Health organization. Applications are accepted annually from February 1 to March 1. Apply at https://mercer-health.com/med-foundation/volunteer-association-scholarship/
  • Medical Student Summer Internship & Exploration Program: Offered by Mercer Health’s Medical Staff, this program is designed for college students who are considering applying for medical school and have completed at least two years of college by the time the program begins in June. Participants gain firsthand experience learning from local physicians and helps them make an informed decision about applying for medical school. Priority selection will be given to graduates of a Mercer County or adjacent‑county school system, as well as to applicants who demonstrate a strong local tie to Mercer Health and our surrounding communities.   • Mercer Health Medical Student Scholarship: Supports current medical students from Mercer County and surrounding counties, as well as medical students who have participated in rotations at Mercer Health.   • Job Shadowing: Mercer Health strongly encourages local high school and college students to explore future careers through job shadowing. This short-term observational experience is available to students with specific interests and offers exposure to a variety of departments across the organization, including both clinical and non-clinical settings.
