Celina Mercer County Chamber Highlights March Events, Scholarships and Family Activities

The Celina Mercer County Chamber of Commerce is reminding area residents about a busy stretch of upcoming community events, scholarship opportunities, and family activities across the area.

In a weekly chamber update, Director Stacy Beougher highlighted several events ranging from health and education programs to anniversary celebrations and Easter activities.

One of the first events on the calendar is Grand Lake Health System’s second annual Girl Talk event, set for Thursday, March 12th. The program invites mothers and daughters to attend and is designed to provide support and resources on the experiences that come with being a teenage girl. The session is recommended for girls ages 8 through 13, but it is open to all. Mothers are encouraged to attend with their daughters. Pizza and snacks will be provided at no cost, but space is limited. Those interested can register by calling 419 394 7314.

Also coming up is Celina Tent’s 30th anniversary open house on Saturday, March 14th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The public will have a chance to tour the facility, learn more about the company’s work, and hear more about how the business got started.

Later in the month, the Celina Athletic Boosters will host their fourth annual Fun Night on Saturday, March 28th from 6 to 11 p.m. at Romer’s. The event will include raffles, entertainment, drinks, snacks, and an evening of support for Bulldog athletics. More information is available by emailing celinaboosterclub@gmail.com.

Beougher also used the update to remind high school seniors that scholarship application season is underway. Superior Credit Union has opened applications for its Superior Foundation scholarships, now in its eighth year. Applications are being accepted through April 1st at superiorcu.com/scholarship. Students can also find additional scholarship opportunities through the Mercer County Civic Foundation website.

Families also have a pair of March 28th events to mark on the calendar. Celina Manor will host a pancake breakfast with the Easter Bunny from 8:30 to 10 a.m. The event will include breakfast, Easter crafts, and the chance to take photos with the Easter Bunny.

Following that event, the annual Celina Easter Egg Hunt hosted by Wabash Telephone will take place on the courthouse lawn in downtown Celina. The hunt begins at 11 a.m. sharp, with eggs containing treats and prizes.

Beougher said those are just a few of the many activities happening locally in the coming weeks. More information is available through the chamber’s Facebook page.

She closed the update with a familiar reminder to residents to shop local and support local.
