St. Henry Board Recognizes State Champions, Approves Grants and Staffing Items
The St. Henry Board of Education recognized several student athletes and approved a number of personnel, grant, and operational items during its March meeting.
Superintendent Adam Puthoff said the board recognized Ian Schwieterman and Quinn Lefeld for qualifying for the State Swim and Dive Championships. Leifeld placed 26th in the swim championship. The board also recognized the 2026 Division 2 State Champion boys bowling team, marking the first bowling state title in school history and the program’s 22nd overall state championship.
Puthoff also said the board discussed the St. Henry Athletic Boosters’ plans to take on the press box project at the Wally Post Athletic Complex, possibly as soon as this summer.
Among the actions approved were multiple donations to the Get Real program, a 3 thousand dollar Cooper Farms donation tied to a Cooper Foundation grant, an agreement with the St. Henry Education Association for staffing athletic ticket gates, and acceptance of a BWC Safety and Security Grant totaling just over 38 thousand dollars. The grant will be used to purchase floor scrubbers.
The board also approved a baseball fundraiser, policy updates, a stipend for the LEGO League advisor, FMLA for Olivia McKibben, several resignations, and new hires including Brianna Siefring as a third grade teacher, Travis Chilcoat as a volunteer softball coach, and Jody Homan as a long term substitute.
The board entered executive session for employment discussion and took no action afterward. The next St. Henry Board of Education meeting is set for Wednesday, April 8th at 6 p.m. in the high school media center.
