Chocolate Walk, Garage Sales, Health Events and More Highlight Busy Local Calendar
CELINA — Celina Mercer County Chamber of Commerce Director Stacy Beougher is spotlighting a packed schedule of upcoming events across the area, including downtown shopping, health education, garage sales, summer activities, and community fundraisers.
Beougher said Downtown Celina will host its annual Chocolate Walk this Friday, April 17th. She said the event gives people a chance to stroll downtown, enjoy treats, and support local businesses. Tickets are 25 dollars per person or two for 40 dollars, with purchase information available on the Downtown Celina Ohio Facebook page.
She also highlighted several upcoming community garage sale weekends. Fort Recovery’s sales are set for April 16th through the 18th, followed by Coldwater’s community sales April 30th through May 2nd. Beougher said the Mercer County Council on Aging will also host one of the area’s larger sales May 7th through the 10th at its Riley Street location in Celina, with proceeds supporting senior programming.
Beougher said Mercer Health’s next Community Health 101 educational session will be held Monday, April 20th. The free program is titled “Cause and Effect: Obesity and its Impact on Your Sleep, Heart and Liver.” She said more information is available by emailing Mercer Health or calling the hospital, and no RSVP is required.
Another upcoming event is a quarter auction hosted by Mercer Residential Services on April 25th at the Celina Eagles. Beougher said doors open at 11 a.m. with the auction starting at noon. Tickets are 10 dollars and include entry, a meal, and an auction paddle.
Families planning summer activities for their children are also being encouraged to take advantage of the Kids Bowl Free program. Beougher said Plaza Lanes and Pla Mor Lanes are both participating, allowing kids to bowl two free games a day all summer. Registration is available through the Kids Bowl Free website.
Beougher also noted that the Mercer Health 5K Challenge summer running series begins in June. She said runners who pre-register by June 20th can save on the bundled race price. The first race is scheduled for Saturday, June 20th.
She added that the Celina Farmers Market will continue its indoor market through the end of April in the PBS building at the Mercer County Fairgrounds. The outdoor market is set to open Saturday, May 2nd, with the market continuing Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.
Beougher encouraged residents to follow the chamber on Facebook or visit its website for more details on upcoming local events.
