A Willshire woman was arrested following a Grand Lake Task Force investigation that led to the seizure of approximately 1.5 pounds of suspected methamphetamine.
According to the Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation led to a traffic stop at 9:31 p.m. on April 23rd on I 75 northbound near mile marker 109. The stop was made for a traffic violation.
An Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office K 9 was requested to conduct a sniff of the vehicle and gave a positive indication. Deputies then searched the vehicle and located the suspected methamphetamine along with $806 in U.S. currency.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was identified as 43 year old Nicole Marcine Cooper of Willshire. Cooper was taken into custody and booked into the Auglaize County Corrections Center.
She is charged with drug possession. Her bond was set at $250,000, 10 percent.
The suspected methamphetamine has an estimated street value of more than $20,000.
The Grand Lake Task Force is made up of deputies and officers from departments in Auglaize and Mercer Counties. The Ohio State Highway Patrol and the FBI Northwest Safe Streets Task Force also assisted.
