Mercer County Fair Announces Online Livestock Auction And New Champion Showcase

Mercer County Fair Announces Online Livestock Auction And New Champion Showcase

Mercer County Fair officials are preparing for a major change to one of the fair’s longtime traditions.

Fair Manager Cara Muhlenkamp says the livestock auction will now be held fully online. Instead of the traditional live auction in the ring, fair officials are encouraging the public to come out and enjoy a new Champion Showcase.

Muhlenkamp says the event is designed to celebrate the hard work and accomplishments of the youth exhibitors. The showcase will feature the fair’s champions in a special setting, complete with lights, action, and a “red carpet” style experience for the kids.

The goal is to give the exhibitors a moment in the spotlight while allowing the public to gather, celebrate, and show support for the work the kids have put into their livestock projects.

Muhlenkamp says the Champion Showcase will be a fun and exciting way to recognize the youth involved in the fair, while the actual livestock auction process moves online.

Representatives from the Mercer County Fair will be featured on Spectrum on Wednesday, May 6th at 12:35 p.m. on 96.7 The Wave.
