Celina Mercer County Chamber Highlights May Events And Summer Activities

Celina Mercer County Chamber of Commerce Director Stacy Beougher shared several upcoming community events and activities happening around the area.

The Mercer County Council on Aging will host its next Senior Citizen Garage Sale from May 7th through May 10th at the Council on Aging, located at 217 Riley Street in Celina. Proceeds from the sale will benefit Council on Aging programming.

Families looking for summer activities for kids can take part in the Kids Bowl Free program. Plaza Lanes and Playmore Lanes are both participating in the nationwide program, which allows kids to bowl two free games per day throughout the summer. Families can sign up at kidsbowlfree.com.

The Mercer Health 5K Challenge is also preparing for another summer running series. The first race is scheduled for Saturday, June 20th. Participants can save on bundle pricing by registering for all races by June 20th. More information is available at mercerhealth5kchallenge.com.

The Celina Farmers Market has opened its outdoor season at the Mercer County Fairgrounds. The market is held Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon and features local vendors along with weekly activities for kids.

The Celina American Legion will host its annual Mother’s Day brunch on Sunday, May 10th. The brunch is open to the public and will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $15 for adults, $7 for kids ages 6 through 12, and free for children 5 and under. Proceeds will support American Legion projects and scholarships.

Grand Lake Health System will host its next Walk with a Doc on Saturday, May 9th at 8:30 a.m. at Casey Geiger Park. The free event will feature CNP Katie Heitkamp and Dr. Jim Schwieterman.

The Celina Mercer County Chamber will also host its annual golf outing on May 22nd at Celina Lynx Golf Club. The event will include golf, networking, and community connection. Hole in one sponsors include Bud Chevrolet, Stammen Insurance, and Speakeasy. Teams can register by calling 419-586-2219.
