St. Marys Baseball To Host Cancer Survivor Game And Team Kantner Day

St. Marys baseball will host Minster on Friday, May 8th for the 3rd Annual St. Marys Baseball Cancer Survivor Game and Team Kantner Day.

The games will be held at KC Geiger Park Diamond 7, the varsity field near the main entrance. The junior varsity game will begin at 4:30 p.m., with the varsity game to follow at approximately 7:30 p.m.

This year’s event will also show support for the Kantner family. Brian Kantner, the father of St. Marys baseball player Reid Kantner, is battling another round of cancer.

Cancer survivors and those currently battling cancer are invited to be honored on the field before the varsity game. The recognition will take place between the junior varsity and varsity games at approximately 7:15 p.m. for the National Anthem.

Anyone interested in participating in the pregame recognition can contact Adam Graves at adam.graves@smriders.net.

Hot dogs and hamburgers will be served during the games for a free will donation. A 50/50 drawing will also be held during the varsity game. Tickets are one for $5 or five for $20. Those who cannot attend but would still like to purchase tickets can contact Graves or Venmo @Adam-Graves-SM with their name and phone number.

All money raised from the cookout and 50/50 drawing will be donated directly to help the Kantner family.
