A Rockford man is facing a felony drug charge in Mercer County Common Pleas Court.
According to court documents, David L. Ralston is charged with possession of cocaine, a fifth degree felony.
The complaint states the alleged offense happened on or about April 30th in Mercer County. The case was filed May 1st.
According to an affidavit from the Rockford Police Department, an officer stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of West Market Street in Rockford after observing an expired registration.
The affidavit states Ralston was identified as the driver. During the stop, the officer reported finding a rolled up piece of paper in Ralston’s pocket. The affidavit says two rocks that appeared to be cocaine were later found inside the paper, and one of the rocks field tested positive for cocaine.
Ralston was transported to the Mercer County Detention Facility.
The case remains pending in Mercer County Common Pleas Court. Ralston is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
