Parkway Superintendent Thanks Community Following Renewal Levy Passage

Parkway Superintendent Thanks Community Following Renewal Levy Passage

Parkway Local Schools Superintendent Laura Young is thanking the community following the passage of the district’s renewal levy.

The issue was a renewal tax levy for the Parkway Local School District, which serves portions of Mercer, Van Wert, and Auglaize counties. According to election information, the levy is for current expenses and is expected to collect $1,390,689 annually. The rate is not to exceed 8.97 mills, which amounts to about $185 for each $100,000 of the county auditor’s market value. The levy is for five years, beginning in 2026, with first collection due in calendar year 2027.

Young said the passage reflects the value the community places on students and the trust voters have placed in the district.

She said the support serves as the backbone of Parkway Local Schools, allowing the district to remain proactive in planning, support student growth, and continue serving as transparent stewards of taxpayer dollars.

Young also said the renewal will help the district continue providing the resources needed to maintain its standards of excellence.

In the district’s recent quality profile, Parkway also described the May 2026 issue as a renewal operating levy tied to the district’s continued financial planning.

Young thanked the Parkway community for standing with the district and said the school system is honored to serve its residents.
