Two Dead Following Head On Crash In Darke County

Two people have died following a head on crash Tuesday afternoon in Darke County.

According to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 12:33 PM on June 2nd to the 2600 block of State Route 571. Greenville Township Fire and Rescue, Greenville City Fire and Lutheran Air also responded.

The preliminary investigation found that a red 2025 Ram pickup truck, driven by 82 year old Larry Addis of Greenville, was traveling southeast on State Route 571 when he drove left of center.

Authorities say Addis collided head on with a red 2021 Toyota Prius traveling northwest. The Prius was driven by 62 year old Lorretta Biggs of Troy.

Biggs was pronounced dead at the scene.

Addis was flown to Miami Valley Hospital by Lutheran Air. The sheriff’s office says Addis later died from his injuries at 4:57 PM.

The Darke County Coroner’s Office and the Darke County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Team assisted with the investigation.

The crash remains under investigation.
