New Knoxville Schools Reports Strong Financial Position

New Knoxville Local Schools says the district remains in a strong financial position despite uncertainty surrounding property taxes at the state level.

Superintendent Mark Platfoot said the district’s treasurer presented an updated financial forecast during Monday night’s Board of Education meeting.

Platfoot said district officials are pleased with the current financial outlook while continuing to watch potential changes involving property taxes and school funding in Ohio.

The district plans to continue monitoring any state action that could affect local revenue in the future.

New Knoxville’s Board of Education also approved the purchase of nearly 12 acres of property adjacent to the school.

District officials say the additional land will provide more flexibility for possible future expansion as New Knoxville considers the long term needs of students and the district.
