Chickasaw Firefighter Andy Spieth Retires After 30 Years of Service

The Chickasaw Volunteer Fire Department is recognizing Andy Spieth following his retirement from the department after 30 years of service.

The department announced Spieth's retirement on social media, thanking him for his “hard work and dedication” to the Chickasaw Volunteer Fire Department and saying he will be missed.

Spieth has been a familiar figure in the Chickasaw community for decades. In addition to his fire service, he has worked at Chickasaw Garage since 1991, where he is an ASE-certified technician specializing in underbody and mechanical repairs. Chickasaw Garage describes him as an active member of the community and notes that he and his wife live in Maria Stein and are parents and grandparents.

During his three decades with the fire department, Spieth was part of a volunteer organization that has provided fire protection and mutual aid throughout the surrounding area.

The Chickasaw Volunteer Fire Department has also responded to major incidents throughout the region. In May 2025, Chickasaw firefighters were among numerous area departments called to the devastating fire at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Maria Stein.

The department's announcement offered a simple message of appreciation to Spieth: congratulations on his retirement, and thank you for 30 years of service.

For a volunteer firefighter, three decades represents countless hours spent away from family and work, responding when neighbors needed help. Spieth's retirement marks the end of a long chapter of service to the Chickasaw community.
