86 Year Old Celina Man Pleads Guilty in Drug Trafficking Case

CELINA — An 86 year old Celina man pleaded guilty Wednesday in Mercer County Common Pleas Court in connection with allegations that he sold Xanax.

Thomas M. Meyers was arraigned before entering the guilty plea. He received an agreed sentence of 180 days in the Mercer County Jail. The jail sentence will remain suspended provided Meyers commits no criminal offense more serious than a minor misdemeanor during the next five years.

A Mercer County grand jury indicted Meyers August 20 on two counts of trafficking in drugs, both fifth degree felonies.

The indictment alleges Meyers knowingly sold or offered to sell Xanax in an amount less than the bulk amount between July 13 and July 22. It also alleges he prepared, transported, delivered or distributed the drug while knowing or having reason to believe it was intended for sale or resale.
