Julia Schoonover Sentenced to 180 Days for Community Control Violation

A 26 year old woman has been sentenced to 180 days in the Mercer County Adult Detention Center after admitting to a violation of her community control sanctions.

Julia C. Schoonover admitted the violation in Mercer County Common Pleas Court and was sentenced to 180 days, with credit for 68 days already served.

Schoonover’s underlying case stems from an aggravated possession of drugs charge. A Mercer County Grand Jury indicted her in March on a fifth degree felony count of aggravated possession of drugs involving methamphetamine. Court documents allege the offense occurred on or about March 18 in Mercer County.

Court records show Schoonover had been placed on community control and ordered to participate in and successfully complete the Attain Behavioral Health Program. A probation filing in July alleged she was unsuccessfully discharged from that program, which constituted a violation of her community control sanctions.

Her community control conditions also included substance abuse treatment, drug and alcohol monitoring and supervision for up to three years.

Following her admission to the violation, Schoonover received the 180 day jail sentence with 68 days of jail time credit.
