Celina Man Indicted on Seven Charges Including Aggravated Riot

WAPAKONETA — A Celina man has been indicted on seven charges stemming from alleged incidents in Auglaize County.

An Auglaize County grand jury indicted Ashton Jerry Dean Finn on one count of aggravated riot, one count of breaking and entering, two counts of assault, two counts of criminal trespass and one count of violating a protection order.

According to the indictment, the alleged incidents occurred August 30 and 31.

The aggravated riot charge alleges Finn participated with four or more people in disorderly conduct with the purpose of committing or helping commit an offense of violence. The charge is a fourth-degree felony.

Finn is also accused of trespassing on another person’s property with the purpose of committing a felony. That breaking-and-entering charge is a fifth-degree felony.

The two assault counts allege Finn knowingly caused or attempted to cause physical harm to another person. Both are first-degree misdemeanors.

Finn also faces two fourth-degree misdemeanor counts of criminal trespass. One allegedly occurred August 30, with the other occurring August 31.

The final count alleges Finn recklessly violated the terms of a protection order. That charge is a first-degree misdemeanor.

The indictment was filed September 3 in Auglaize County Common Pleas Court. Court records indicate Finn was personally served with a summons, and a notice of hearing was filed September 9.

The case remains open. An indictment contains allegations, and Finn is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
