Minster provides updates on street resurfacing, water line project and village improvements

MINSTER — Minster Village Administrator Donald Harrod provided several updates on ongoing infrastructure and maintenance projects ahead of tonight’s Village Council meeting.

Barrett Paving has been working in the village over the past several days as part of Minster’s minor street resurfacing program. Crews have been grinding and resurfacing several streets and alleys, with the work expected to be completed early this week.

The village also held a preconstruction meeting with Finfrock Excavating for the North Garfield Street Water Line Replacement Project.

Harrod said Finfrock plans to begin preliminary work within the next couple of weeks, but excavation will not begin until after Oktoberfest weekend. If weather conditions cooperate, the contractor hopes to complete the project by the end of the year.

Fenson Contracting has also returned to Minster to repair trenches that settled in front of Machine Concepts.

At Paris Street Park, Pleiman Landscaping has reseeded areas around the new parking lots. Harrod said that work wraps up the parking lot project.

The village is also preparing for another phase of its sidewalk repair program. Scott Langenkamp will reconfirm sidewalks needing replacement in the southwest quarter of Minster, which is the next section scheduled for repairs.

Meanwhile, the Public Works Department continues repainting street markings throughout the village. Once that work is completed, crews will move on to repainting curbs.
