Two Pedestrians Seriously Injured in Auglaize County Crash

Two Cridersville residents were seriously injured Saturday night when a car struck them on National Road in Auglaize County.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says the crash happened around 11:25 p.m. September 19, east of State Route 501. A 2005 Chrysler 300 driven by 58-year-old Rob Roby of Cridersville was traveling east when it struck 23-year-old Ryan Twining and 22-year-old Kelsey Woten, both of Cridersville. The two were walking eastbound on the roadway.

Twining suffered life-threatening injuries. Woten suffered serious injuries. Cridersville EMS transported both to St. Rita’s Hospital in Lima. Roby was not injured.

Troopers say Twining had earlier been involved in a collision with a deer and had gotten out of his vehicle to look for it. Woten was helping him when the pedestrian crash occurred.

The Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office and Cridersville Fire Department and EMS assisted at the scene. Troopers do not suspect alcohol or drug impairment. The Wapakoneta Post continues to investigate.
