A series of felony cases involving Bobby L. Mowery continues to move through Mercer County Common Pleas Court, with the oldest allegations dating back to September 2025.

Court records show Mowery is currently facing charges across three separate criminal cases, including two failure-to-comply charges, escape, inducing panic and obstructing official business.

The oldest case, 25-CRM-132, stems from an alleged incident on September 1, 2025.

A Mercer County grand jury indicted Mowery later that month on one count of failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony. Prosecutors allege Mowery operated a vehicle while willfully fleeing from law enforcement and created a substantial risk of serious physical harm to people or property.

A warrant was issued following the indictment, but court records show it was not executed until April 24, 2026.

That gap accounts for much of the time between the original alleged offense and the case reaching the courtroom.

Mowery made his initial appearance April 27. His bond was set at $100,000 subject to 10 percent, and attorney Thomas Lucente Jr. was initially appointed to represent him.

Two days later, Mowery was arraigned and entered a plea of not guilty to the third-degree felony failure-to-comply charge.

The case then took another turn in May when Mowery requested a change of appointed counsel.

The court granted that request and relieved Lucente and the Mercer County Public Defender’s Office from the case. Attorney Ross Finke was appointed to represent Mowery.

By that point, Mowery was also facing additional criminal cases.

Court filings identify 25-CRM-133 as a separate case charging Mowery with escape, a fourth-degree felony.

A third case, 26-CRM-058, includes charges of failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer and inducing panic, both fourth-degree felonies, along with obstructing official business, a fifth-degree felony.

The three cases began appearing together in court filings during the summer.

In July, Mowery filed a motion requesting a temporary furlough from the Mercer County Adult Detention Center so he could attend a scheduled medical appointment in Celina.

The motion proposed several conditions, including prohibiting alcohol and drug use, limiting Mowery’s travel to the medical appointment and back, and requiring him to remain in continuous custody during the furlough. furlough file on 7-8-26

The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office opposed the request, citing the felony charges pending against Mowery in all three cases.

Judge Matthew Fox denied the motion on July 14, finding the request “not well-taken.”

The cases have continued moving through the court system since then.

An attorney conference in the 2026 case was scheduled for August 26, followed by another attorney conference on September 2.

A criminal pretrial was then scheduled for September 16, followed by another pretrial set for September 30.

The timeline shows that although the oldest case dates back more than a year, Mowery was not brought before the court on that indictment until April, after the warrant remained outstanding for more than seven months.

Since his arrest, the court has been managing three separate felony cases, a change in defense counsel, the denied furlough request and multiple attorney conferences and pretrial hearings.

All charges remain pending.

Mowery is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
