Kettlersville Woman Killed in Shelby County Crash Near McCartyville


 

A Kettlersville woman was killed Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Shelby County.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Piqua Post says the crash happened shortly after 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of State Route 29 and McCartyville Road in Van Buren Township.

According to the preliminary investigation, 73-year-old Ida Kaminsky of Kettlersville was driving a Buick Encore south on McCartyville Road.

Troopers say Kaminsky failed to yield at the stop sign at State Route 29 and entered the intersection, where her vehicle was struck by a westbound concrete mixer.

The concrete mixer was driven by 39-year-old Carlton Nusbaum of Rockford.

Kaminsky was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by Van Buren Township Fire and EMS, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, the Shelby County Coroner’s Office and the Ohio Department of Transportation.

The crash remains under investigation by the Piqua Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
