Minster Council advances street-name changes for 911 system

Minster Village Council has moved closer to resolving street-name discrepancies between village and county records as part of improvements to Auglaize County’s 911 addressing and emergency response system.

Village Administrator Don Harrod said council gave a second reading Tuesday night to an ordinance concerning Midway Drive and Industrial Drive. The county had the two streets listed under different names and asked the village to formally confirm the names used on its existing street signs.

Council also approved several financial measures involving the village’s 2026 appropriations.

A total of $310,563 was transferred from the Playground Park Equipment Fund to the General Fund. Another $9,090 was transferred from the Parkview Acres ADA Sidewalk Fund to the General Fund.

Harrod said the transfers were made to address accounting matters in the village’s budget. Council also increased appropriations in the Parkview Acres Sidewalk Fund by $9,000.

In other business, council approved a new three-year agreement with the City of St. Marys to continue administering and collecting Minster’s municipal income tax.

St. Marys has provided the service to Minster for more than 20 years. The village’s current contract expires at the end of 2026.

Under the renewed agreement, the collection fee will remain unchanged at 1.75 percent of the income tax collected for Minster.
