Celina garage and contents considered a total loss following Thursday night fire
A garage and everything inside it are considered a total loss following a fire Thursday night in Celina.
Celina Fire Chief Brian Davis said firefighters were called to 515 North Walnut Street at approximately 7:30 p.m. Crews arrived to find flames coming from the front of the garage.
Firefighters quickly knocked down the flames, but the structure sustained heavy fire damage and its contents are believed to be a complete loss.
Nine firefighters remained at the scene until approximately 12:30 a.m. Friday. Davis said the garage contained cellulose insulation in its attic, which can conceal hot spots and required crews to spend several hours overhauling the structure to prevent the fire from rekindling.
The garage was far enough away from the nearby home that the fire did not damage the house or other surrounding property.
The Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office has been contacted to investigate the cause of the fire.
