Krysta Lorraine Happy

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Krysta Lorraine Happy, who left this world unexpectedly in her sleep on October 18, 2026. Born on February 12, 1986, in Coldwater, Ohio, Krysta epitomized her last name every day of her life, bringing happiness and joy to all who knew her. Krysta was a beloved daughter to Jerry and Tonie Happy and a cherished wife to Katherine Spafford. On August 31, 2021, Krysta and Katherine exchanged vows in the beautiful setting of Rosemary Beach, Florida, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their sixteen-year journey together. Their home was shared with three cherished cats—Fiona, Mia, and Ollie—and two adored dogs, Stanley and Stewart, who brought them endless joy. A proud graduate of Coldwater High School in 2004, Krysta pursued higher education with passion, earning her bachelor's degree in Organizational Leadership from Wright State University, Ohio, in 2009. Her career at Travelers Insurance spanned over eleven years, during which she excelled in various leadership roles, most recently serving as a manager of Business Process Outsourcing. Her professional journey was marked by her dedication, intelligence, and a genuine desire to make a difference. Krysta's heart was as big as her smile, and she dedicated much of her time to philanthropic endeavors. She volunteered for organizations such as Ronald McDonald House, Habitat for Humanity, and local schools in Knoxville, sharing her knowledge and kindness with students through Travelers Insurance. Her commitment to giving back was a testament to her generous spirit and unwavering dedication to helping others. A true sports enthusiast, Krysta was a season ticket holder for University of Michigan Football and the Savannah Bananas. She found joy in sharing her love of sports by gifting tickets to others so they, too, could enjoy her favorite sporting events. Her love for sports was matched only by her culinary talents. She found immense joy in cooking and creating delicious meals, sharing her love through food with family and friends. Krysta's radiant personality and infectious laughter brightened every room she entered. She had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel loved, valued, and understood. Her kindness, selflessness, and humor left an indelible mark on the hearts of everyone who was fortunate enough to know her. She was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, always ready to lend a listening ear or a helping hand. Along with her parents, Jerry and Tonie Happy, Krysta is survived by her loving wife, Katherine, her mother-in-law Merry Spafford, her siblings Brian and Kristine Happy, Matt and Jessica Spafford, and Justin and Rachael Rhinehart. She also leaves behind her treasured nieces, Karly and Claire Happy, Emily and Amanda (Stover) Spafford, and Sarah, Jenna, and Emma (Bollinger) Rhinehart, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Michael C. Spafford.
