Rockford preparing bids for next phase of subdivision
The Village of Rockford is preparing to seek bids for the third phase of a local subdivision project.
Village Administrator Aaron Temple told council the project will create seven lots and extend a street to connect with Holly Lane. Bids are expected to be opened November 12, with construction scheduled for completion by June 2027.
Temple said three lots remain available in the second phase of the subdivision.
Council also passed an emergency ordinance authorizing the village administrator to execute documents related to the sale of lots in the Miller Subdivision.
In other action, officials continued work on an updated snow emergency ordinance. The proposed policy would automatically declare a snow emergency when at least two inches of snow falls or is forecast, requiring vehicles to be removed from village streets. Council members are still reviewing possible fines and other consequences for violations. A first reading could be held at the next council meeting.
Temple also reported that security cameras will be installed at the park by the end of next week. Concrete work is underway for a new storage area for the Rockford Historical Society.
Council approved a ballpark field agreement with Parkway and authorized payment of more than $27,000 in village bills.
The village’s Rules Committee will meet Wednesday, October 28, at 5 p.m. The first reading of Rockford’s proposed 2027 budget is scheduled for November 3.
