Portage County shooting suspect arrested following manhunt

A suspect in a fatal shooting in Portage County was arrested following a manhunt Tuesday.

Authorities said a woman was shot and killed inside a home in Atwater Township. The suspect then fled, prompting lockdowns in two nearby school districts.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol used license plate readers to locate the suspect about 90 miles away on Interstate 77.

The suspect was taken into custody and is being held in the Portage County Jail. Authorities have not released the names of the suspect or victim.
