Waynesfield man sentenced in child sexual abuse material case
A Waynesfield man has been sentenced to nearly five years in prison after pleading guilty to charges involving child sexual abuse material and the secret recording of a teenage neighbor.
Auglaize County Common Pleas Court Judge Frederick Pepple sentenced 46-year-old Jerod Ridenour on Wednesday to four years and 11 months in prison. Ridenour previously pleaded guilty to four counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor and one count of voyeurism.
Ridenour was indicted in May on 87 felony charges. Prosecutors dismissed the remaining charges as part of a plea agreement reached in August.
Authorities said they discovered dozens of images of child sexual abuse material on Ridenour’s electronic devices. Prosecutors said the only identified victim was a 15-year-old neighbor whom Ridenour secretly recorded while she was nude.
Ridenour was also classified as a Tier II sex offender. He must register with local authorities every six months for 25 years.
