Ohio has joined the Federal Trade Commission and other states in a lawsuit accusing Dollar General of charging customers more at checkout than the prices displayed on shelves, price tags and advertisements.
The lawsuit alleges the retailer routinely misled customers about prices. Michigan is also among the states involved.
Dollar General, based in Tennessee, operates more than 20,000 stores nationwide. The company says it will vigorously defend itself against the litigation.
