Angie King Discusses Taxes, Workforce and Local Projects on WCSM’s Spectrum
State Representative Angie King discussed affordability, workforce shortages and state funding for local projects during Friday’s appearance on WCSM’s Spectrum.
King, a Celina Republican seeking a third term representing Ohio’s 84th House District, said affordability and finding workers are two concerns she regularly hears from constituents and employers. The district includes Mercer County and portions of Darke and Auglaize counties.
King highlighted tax changes, workforce training investments and property tax reforms she said are intended to limit sharp increases while supporting schools and local governments. She said additional property tax relief remains among her priorities.
King also said nearly $14 million has been directed to projects across the three counties since she took office. Projects she highlighted included Mercer County Fairgrounds improvements, a regional fire training facility, Fort Recovery’s water tower, and opera house renovations in Fort Recovery and St. Marys.
She also pointed to nearly $5 million for restoration work at Grand Lake, including improvements near Coldwater Creek and Prairie Creek.
Looking ahead, King said her priorities include school safety funding, restrictions on certain foreign purchases near critical infrastructure and military installations, and greater flexibility for hospitals employing X-ray personnel. She also emphasized continued support for water quality funding.
King previously served 11 years on Celina City Council and 10 years as Mercer County recorder.
