Versailles Boy Injured in UTV Rollover on State Route 185

A 12-year-old Versailles boy was hospitalized Sunday afternoon after a UTV overturned on State Route 185 in Darke County.

The Darke County Sheriff’s Office says deputies and emergency crews responded to the 11,500 block of State Route 185 around 2:53 p.m. November 1.

Investigators say Tucker J. Whittaker was driving a Polaris UTV eastbound when he lost control and the vehicle overturned on the roadway. He was ejected and transported by Ansonia Rescue to Dayton Children’s Hospital.

His passenger, Stephen J. Whittaker, 52, of Versailles, remained inside the UTV and got out before emergency personnel arrived. He was treated and released at the scene.

Versailles police and firefighters also responded. The crash remains under investigation.
