Election 2026: All Six Mercer County Levies Pass; King, Jordan Lead Local Returns as Auglaize County Issues Decided

November 3, 2026 — Voters in Mercer and Auglaize counties went to the polls Tuesday to decide local tax levies, statewide and congressional races, and several other ballot questions.

The latest unofficial Mercer County results show all six local tax levies receiving majority approval, while Republican candidates maintained substantial leads in congressional and state legislative races.

In Auglaize County, the Washington Township levy has passed, the St. Marys Township levy remains too close to call, and voters in the city of St. Marys have approved all four liquor-related ballot questions, according to election-night updates.

The new Mercer County report, issued at 9:19 p.m., includes all 36 Election Day precincts. Auglaize County's independently verified report, issued at 7:54 p.m., includes 10 of 42 precincts, although additional local outcomes have since been reported.

All Six Mercer County Tax Levies Receive Majority Approval

All six tax levy proposals appearing on the Mercer County ballot received majority support in the county's complete unofficial precinct returns.

Marion Township recorded the largest percentage of support, with just over 82 percent of voters approving its levy.

Hopewell Township had the closest contest among the six proposals, with 265 votes in favor and 175 opposed.

All precincts associated with each of the six levies have reported. The results remain unofficial until certified.

King Leads Childrey in 84th Ohio House District

Republican State Representative Angie King received 14,616 votes in Mercer County, compared to 3,234 for Democratic challenger Arienne Childrey.

King received 81.88 percent of the Mercer County vote, while Childrey received 18.12 percent.

In Auglaize County's earlier partial returns, King also led Childrey, 5,231 votes to 1,925.

The Auglaize County report included nine of the 30 precincts associated with that race in the county.

These figures represent votes counted in the respective counties rather than a certified districtwide total.

Jim Jordan Leads Fourth Congressional District Returns

Republican Congressman Jim Jordan also received a large majority of the Mercer County vote in his reelection race.

With all 36 county precincts reporting, the unofficial results showed:

CandidateVotesPercentage
Jim Jordan (Republican) 14,437 80.20%

Tracey L. Tackett 286 1.59%

In Auglaize County's earlier partial returns, Jordan received 6,773 votes, compared to 2,443 for Kolasinski and 238 for Tackett.

The figures are county-level returns, not final results for the entire Fourth Congressional District.

Auglaize County Tax Levies and Liquor Issues

Several local tax issues were on the ballot in Auglaize County, including proposals in Wapakoneta, St. Marys Township, Washington Township, New Knoxville and other communities.

The Washington Township additional tax levy has passed, according to the latest local election-night update.

The additional levy in St. Marys Township remains too close to call.

In Wapakoneta, voters approved the city's additional two-mill parks and recreation levy.

The available unofficial report shows 2,105 votes in favor and 1,418 against, giving the proposal 59.75 percent support. All eight city precincts had reported.

Other measures appearing on the Auglaize County ballot included a Spencerville Local Schools income tax renewal, an additional levy in New Knoxville, a renewal in the unincorporated portion of Logan Township, and separate fire protection and cemetery levy renewals in Wayne Township.

The early Auglaize County report showed majority support for the New Knoxville, Logan Township and Wayne Township proposals, while the Spencerville school income tax renewal was trailing. Those early figures did not include Election Day precinct returns for those specific issues, so their final outcomes could not be independently confirmed from that report.

St. Marys Liquor Issues Approved

All four local liquor-related ballot questions in the city of St. Marys have been approved, according to election-night updates.

The questions included separate liquor options in St. Marys precincts 1B and 2B, along with proposals involving Generations and Roots Pub in precinct 4A.

The earlier Auglaize County absentee report showed majority support for all four questions. The subsequent election-night update reported that all four passed.
